"400 Lonely Roads" © 2014 Transcendental Publishing (ASCAP) I've been down 400 lonely roads Searching for what I want in life What is it that wanders through my mind While I breathe here alone I often wonder if I'd like it more Living my life as someone else Sometimes all this thinking doesn't help May end up worse than before My thoughts keep on coming back to you The one I'd stand beside I look up to the sky and see the stars and moon They bring me right back to you The thoughts of you It would mean so much to me If I knew you felt the same It would help me stop the blame Of losing you so carelessly My thoughts keep on coming back to you The one I'd stand beside I look up to the sky and see the stars and moon They bring me right back to you The thoughts of you I've been down 400 lonely roads And I'd walk down 400 more If it meant that I could be Coming home to you I've walked down 400 lonely roads Hoped to find what I'm missing I only end up reminiscing With my closets full of ghosts My thoughts keep on coming back to you The one I'd stand beside I look up to the sky and watch the stars and moon They bring me right back to you These thoughts of you These thoughts of you They bring me back To you

City of Lies 05:09
"City of Lies" © 2014 Transcendental Publishing (ASCAP) Disposable childhood Lost in a dream Nowhere to run to But turning away Mother and father Lost in a dream Sisters and brothers Never be free Why you wanna be here Where you gonna stay Your life's been nothing You just throw it away But girl on the corner Looking to score Looks like a woman Or the girl next door Why you wanna be here Did you think there's a cure You try to repress it You think you can soar The man on the corner He's lost in a dream So far gone Never be free Needles and smoke In the city of lies Rapture is found When you are high Needles and smoke To settle the score There's nowhere to run In the city of lies Needles and smoke In the city of lies Rapture is found When you are high Needles and smoke City of lies Rapture is found When you are high Needles and smoke To settle the score Nowhere to run In the city of...

"A Moment of Silence" © 2014 Transcendental Publishing (ASCAP) Letters home from the war Proud of what you were fighting for Pictures of you and your friends Portraying smiles in the sand A purple heart for your battle wounds A ribbon for time in the desert dunes We will never forget Those sleepless nights Your soul endured You served us well We hold your flag And bow our heads A moment of silence For you and your men If you were here you'd do it all again You were one of a few good men You held your country close You knew what mattered most A purpose for what you fought for A reason for you why died We will never forget Those sleepless nights Your soul endured You served us well We hold your flag And bow our heads A moment of silence For you and your men Letters home from the war Proud of what you fought for If you had the choice You'd do it all again Cuz you were one Of a few good men We will never forget Those sleepless nights Your soul endured You served us well We hold your flag And bow our heads A moment of silence For you and your men We hold your flag And we bow our heads For a moment of silence

"The Search is On" © 2014 Transcendental Publishing (ASCAP) I'm on target My aim is straight We're ready to fight With no remorse The time is right The search is on That's what We're fighting for This is our fate We're under the gun To shoot out With no mistakes We've got to stop These deadly wars That's what This war is for What can we do We can't leave it up to chance Fight for freedom until we die Just the victims of circumstance The time is here To head on in May the Lord Forgive our sins We see their face Fall into place Beat 'em down And leave no trace What can we do We can't leave it up to chance Fight for freedom until we die Just the victims of circumstance They're just as scared As you and me Got to focus And set them free I'm on target Just as I thought Gonna hunt them Until they're shot What can we do We can't leave it up to chance Fight for freedom until we die Just the victims of circumstance

"Transcendental Dream" ©2014 Transcendental Publishing (ASCAP) If you unwind Open your mind's eye Nobody knows Where you go Fly in my head Coat the town red Use telepathy To channel your energy Take me for a ride Show me what you hide Cuz only we'll know How far we'll go No roads lead back Once you're on my map Soon you will find Your past is left behind Meet me tonight In my transcendental dream Sinful persuasion Subliminal intoxication Meet me tonight In my transcendental dream Crawl in my thoughts Let me harness what you've got Bare your soul Let me take control Fire your wings Be ready for anything Soon you will see How loose we can be Meet me tonight In my transcendental dream Sinful persuasion Subliminal intoxication Meet me tonight In my transcendental dream If we unwind Open our mind's eye Nobody knows Where we'll go No roads lead back Once we're on a track Soon we will find The thoughts we have in mind Meet me tonight In my transcendental dream Sinful persuasion Subliminal intoxication Meet me tonight In my transcendental dream

"Why Do Doves Cry?" ©2014 Transcendental Publishing (ASCAP) Sometimes in the dark of night She cries herself to sleep For there is the only place To escape her endless screams And it's a matter of time A brief lapse of reason To open ourselves to the truth And close our eyes to the pain All she wants to know Is why Why do doves cry? Nobody knows How can one survive When you're all alone Why you look surprised At what I say Why do doves cry? Taken for granted Taken for a ride Taken forever Oh they've taken her pride All she wants to know Is why Why do doves cry? Nobody knows How can one survive When you're all alone Why you look surprised At what I say Why do doves cry? So many people So many lies So many victims So many cries They all want to know Why do doves cry? Nobody knows How can one survive When you're all alone Why you look surprised At what I say Why do doves cry?

Inhale 05:02
"Inhale" ©2014 Transcendental Publishing (ASCAP) Swimming in darkness searching for what we've lost We'll find the answers; what will be the cost Wallow in water as it rises over us How do we pull through; when will it be enough Then I open my eyes and I see your face We rise to the surface and inhale The tears vaporize over a molten embrace We have found bliss and inhale Drowning in thirst; feeling the hunger A long lost desire; a clap of thunder Writhing in wetness dripping from our skin Rapacity for lust ready to sink in Then I open my eyes and I see your face We rise to the surface and inhale The tears vaporize over a molten embrace We have found bliss and inhale, and inhale We draw it in; we gulp it down We take it in; we softly drown We gasp at the sound as our breath is bound It's not all lost; it's not all lost Then I open my eyes and I see your face We rise to the surface and inhale The tears vaporize over a molten embrace We have found bliss We have found bliss We have found bliss And inhale And inhale And inhale...

"Take the Wheel" ©2014 Transcendental Publishing (ASCAP) The fog of a new day Burns away the memories of last night Sailing off together To find the meaning of our lives Take the wheel and lead us to A distant land far from home Take my hand and I'll take your heart And bring you to our home Birds flying high Flying free We chart our course Across the sea Look to the horizon As the sun fades And hold on to What we had today Take the wheel and lead us to Another time far from here Don't look back at what might have been The tide will change and bring us home Follow the stars As they chase the sun from the sky Take my hand But you are not there Take the wheel; I'll shoot the stars The time has come to sail on The morning comes and your memory fades The fog returns to a new day The morning comes and your memory fades The fog returns to a new day And somewhere over the rainbow Birds are flying high And somewhere over that rainbow He's wondering why

about

The Ian Black Band is a mix of rock, blues, and folk with a no-boundaries approach to the music. From driving rock to laid back introspective ballads, the debut album takes the listener on a musical journey of life, hope, and dreams. Every track brings out the musical soul of IBB from the haunting open "400 Lonely Roads" to the title track "Take the Wheel". Heavily influenced by Rush, Styx, Eric Clapton, Celtic music, and so many other styles, IBB does not fall into any particular genre. The Ian Black Band is "just good music".
